Menopause is no longer a ‘nice to have’ - it’s a business priority.

The UK’s Employment Rights Act marks a significant shift in how menopause is recognised in the workplace.

Large employers (250+ employees) will be required to develop and publish Menopause Action Plans, outlining how they actively support employees through this stage of life - with voluntary adoption from 2026 and mandatory compliance expected from 2027.

This calls for more than just a policy. It requires evidenced action.

Why This Matters

Menopause effects 657 million women worldwide. That’s 13 million in the UK. For around 45% of their lives.

And typically it impacts women at the peak of their experience and leadership capability. With increasing life expectancy, this is the fastest growing demographic of workforce. Yet it remains one of the most under-supported transitions in the workplace.

Handled well, this is a retention, performance and culture opportunity. Handled poorly, it becomes a risk to talent, engagement, commercials, legal compliance and reputation.
